I
Vision
I envision showcasing the MEGARIDE sneakers with my style of utilizing motion capture technology to bring a 3D avatar to life with my body's movements. This 3D avatar wears the MEGARIDE sneakers and engages in dynamic movements that highlight the sneaker's design features.
On the one hand, I want to break with standard 3D shoe visuals that most often only show one shoe and no 3D avatar who wears the sneaker. Therefore, I aim to create an on-foot, more relatable, 3D visual experience for the audience.
On the other hand, I want to incorporate "traditional" 3D mid- and close-up shots from several angles of the shoes, to explore their distinguished features like the BOUNCE sole.

I poured a variety of approaches and ideas into this creative direction proposal which truly excites me. Let me take you further into my thought process with the following sections.
II
MEGARIDE x 3D avatar concept
By using Rokoko Motion Capture technology I can track my body's movements to then transfer this motion-captured data onto a 3D avatar.
In general, the MEGARIDE is the hero piece across the whole visual. Hence, the camera work will focus on the sneaker, and the framing and tilting will ensure that I craft a 3D animation that showcases the hero sneakers worn by an avatar, and not a hero avatar that wears some shoes. I still want to ensure that my vision for the 3D avatar matches.
Regarding the futuristic framing of the campaign, I envision the look and feel of the 3D avatar as an Unreal Engine Metahuman male since I will showcase the male MEGARIDE sneaker. With Metahuman workflow I am well-experienced in creating motion capture and clothes animations.

I envision the 3D Avatar with a trendy buzzcut and an outfit that symbolically fuses Adidas and Footlocker in this campaign. Hence the Adidas socks, and a striped long-sleeve shirt as a reference. The provided graphics of MEGARIDE can also be digitally screen-printed or embroidered onto the garments, to add more identity.
To add more details, I think of crafting a futuristic headpiece that the avatar wears to underline the forward-thinking futuristic aesthetic of the campaign by drawing inspiration from the MEGARIDE's look.
III
3D environment background
Urban contemporary rooftop setting with futuristic elements
that draw inspiration from the shoe's elements. I envision resizing parts of the shoe eg the iconic BOUNCE sole to integrate it into the scenery as a statue or part of an urban industrial building.
I envision a blend of urban cyberpunk and western urban industrial buildings.
While adding elements such as graffiti and ripped billboards to align with the 2004's y2k aesthetic where the archived designs of the MEGARIDE came from.
Alternative and experimental 3D environment approach:
Gaussian Splat / 3D Scanning aesthetic
In addition to using a fully 3D CGI environment,
I am eager to explore a 3D-scanned urban scenery as a base
With 3D scanning techniques that create a Gaussian Splatting 3D scan model - we create a unique scenery that blends a futuristic aesthetic
One can twist, shape-shift, and dissolve a realistic environment into this "futuristic-shape-minimalism" aesthetic which resonates with me to create a captivating urban scenery for the MEGARIDE hero
The trade-off:
It's a new and exciting feature that I immediately thought of when I was told to create breaking, forward-thinking visuals - but it's still an experimental feature with potential weird behavior that could result in sticking to a normal 3D urban scenery, with additional Gaussian splat screen objects.
Given the early stage of the project, I think it is reasonable to adjust the implementation of those 3D Gaussian splatting scans along the project's process to ensure the MEGARIDE is always the hero piece and the aesthetic overall fits nicely
An alternative implementation of the 3D Gaussian Splat or 3D photogrammetry aesthetic is to create a 3D scan of the MEGARIDE itself. Since I will be provided with a MEGARIDE pair, I create a 3D scan of the MEGARIDE that inherits the same futuristic capabilities of qualities of shape-shifting and dissolving which could create a stunning shot.
